Charity & Contest

Forgive the lackluster presentation.  Things are a bit wonky in my universe, but I just didn't want to let too much time go and have people think I was taking the money.  Major thanks to The Angry Lurker, Dustee, Andrei, Anonymous, and Jack for their generosity, and to General Failure and Jack (again) for their participation, and to anyone who voted during the whole process.  Last but not least, many thanks to anyone who has ever sent in an inkblot interpretation.  Whether we used it or not, your time and imagination are appreciated.  We had fun and learned a bit for next time, which will hopefully be soon.  Contest winners will be contacted by email.

  2. Wow, this is pretty cool. Don't see much in the way of charity or contributions these days, let alone in blogs. +1 Karma for you.

  3. Very cool. Hopefully next time is doubly successful.

  4. Nice. Libraries always need the money. Apparently my school has a few hundred thousand dollars worth of stolen books every year.

I must admit I thought this was a scam. Might contribute next time.

  5. Really? Why'd you think it was a scam? This is Rorschach, I assure you, just not from the home PC.

  6. Mostly because this is a blog. And a lot of the people that are here are /b/tards. Not sure if you are one or not, but would prefer to not fund projects like Anonia or some pervs porn collection.

This is the internets after all.

  7. Fair enough. I'd like to highlight this point for Fail and Jack and Buxton: We absolutely need to have a charity selected before the start of anything else. Less suspicion = more charity potential, FOR SOME ODD REASON. :D

rune, I will probably mail this question to you: What else would make you more inclined to donate?

  8. I've been MIA from my blogger duties since the site went downlast week, plus been busy getting my ass kicked at work.

also, love the word "Wonky." Ever since I heard Kristen Bell use it on the Craig Ferguson show.

  9. Rorschach: how about tasteful nudes? They always make me more generous.

  10. I would donate if it was going to something I wanted to get money: A library, homeless kids, insane asylum (this would be interesting).

As you mentioned knowing where the money was going would also be a nice motivation.

Also, I like to know that people have actually donated before. A lot of sites are scams on the internet and thus it is hard for me to part money with sites that may or may not be legit.

Also, having money, this is usually something I like to do before donating. :D
