The Psychology of Bloggers and Nazi Leaders

I went to the library to see if there were any books on Hermann Rorschach to find out not about klecksography, a mere game, but to gain some insight on the man who pioneered their use in psychology.

Didn't find shit, captain.  But I did find a book called The Nuremberg Mind, The Psychology of the Nazi Leaders.  The computer assured me it was very inkblot-related, and at first glance, I thought: An inkblot in the center of a swastika on the cover?  I'll bite.  (I couldn't find a link to the cover, so deal with phone-cam.)

I felt slightly odd, perhaps guilty, walking this book up to be checked-out.  I feel like I am on some sort of list now.

It turns out the book focuses on the inkblot test that was part of the evaluation of the Nazi's head honchos that were in the hot seat at this famous trail.  The book was written in 1975, and seems pretty slanted.  The individual responses of the war criminals to some of the (what is now) standard Rorschach test cards are certainly interesting.  Everything else, including the authors' opinions, are steamy bags of pig piss.
I don't need to worry about my book summary, because the last line of the book, and I shit you not, is: The Nazi were not psychologically normal or healthy individuals.

What I did get out of the book is that the testers flipped the cards around, did multiple testings, and even had them view the blots from up to 10 feet away.  So at least I got a few ideas out of the book that probably has me on some FBI red-flag list.

So, not to leave you without a blot, I am going to put up Card X from the standard Rorschach deck.  Hermann Goering commented to one of the testers, "Oh, those crazy cards again...[laughs]...you know, one of the [other prisoners] said you showed him a lot of vulgar pictures."
I know how you feel, anonymous tester.  I know how you feel...
I am like you, and anyone that has ever responded in this blog is exactly like Hermann Goering.

I'll post his responses tomorrow.

Note:  Not one war criminal saw a panda in any of the blots.

  1. I see a big multicolored panda.

Lol, no, not really. Actually I'm seeing sea critters, sponges, anenomes, sea cucumbers, blue crabs... all circled around something. The crabs are holding seaweed up to the something.

I'm in the mood for seafood, now.

  7. I'm super pissed right now. I kept messing up what I was typing so I had to remove it so I could redo it. The third attempt I forgot to copy the entire thing and was left with have a sentence when pasting. Then on the fourth attempt I got a few words away from finishing and accidentally navigated to another page. If this doesn't work I'm going to kill myself.

First off, good post. I'm surprised with that closing line of the book Oprah hasn't been promoting the hell out of it.

Now for the picture.....(deep mental breath)...

From the top: Two (gray) rats holding up a sword of some kind. Out to the side are two (blue) octopi holding (green) cotton candy. The big red spots are two giant mongoloid deformities (like Sloth). Between the two Sloth heads are ovaries. To the sides of the Sloth guys are two (yellow) rabbits, the one on the right is blowing a bubble, both of them are pooping. Inside the Sloth guys are two (blue) frogs with no heads and only one arm are high fiving each other (maybe because they still have one arm left). Below them are two yellow mutations of Ren (from Ren & Stimpy) and Pikachu. In green at the bottom/middle are two dildos slithering around. At the bottom on either side are two (orange) pigs.

This was so much I have no choice but to outline it. I think I saw so much because of the spacing of the blots and the different colors. Either way, wow.

  8. There was a short period of time where my nose was in every ww2 book relating to the nazis i could get my hands on. not out of any love or admiration but rather out of childish, morbid fascination... similar to the kid in
Apt Pupil. Their bizarre beliefs in the occult, adherence to roman tradition and perceived ties to ancient nordic bloodlines was an interesting read, seemed more like some fantasy from another dimension than actual real history. I found it fascinating and a little bit perplexing that such a strange ideology rose to such heights. Anyway i always hit a brick wall when it came to books dealing with the subject at the library because 99 percent of them were just blank condemnations "nazis were bad...mmmkay...real, real bad...mmmkay" sprinkled with an actual fact or two with no real substance. so if there is a list of "suspicious readers" i guarantee my name is on there too

  14. First thing I saw was darth vader wearing ared robe and carrying two blue pompoms. I looked more and could quite get how I saw darth's helmet initially, but it is sorta vaguely there...

  15. Haha don't worry I am sure you aren't on any lists... but if you were, you should really start to screw with the FBI by pretending to be all crazy and such, but really just lead them on an awesome goose chase around the globe!
    Oh,
I see 2 blue crabs, and 2 pink Nagas in the foreground both giving worship to some statue in the middle. Maybe something from Blackfathom Deeps?

  16. I don't see a panda either. Honestly, I didn't get any mental image of an object when I looked at this. In my mind I got the image of a situation of someone tripping acid saying "The fucking walls are melting..." I know, I'm weird.
