Go get your holiday cheer on, and if you have a nice buzz, come back and draw what you see. Or leave a comment. You know the drill. Be safe and all that; try not to let being a year closer to our impending doom bring you down. Oh, unrelated: I did get your stuff from yesterday, just rushing around today.
Still looking for audio transitions for the podcasts. If you have any sort of mic, head over to Vocaroo and make a sound effect (again, if you are wasted, even better) and send it to st.inkblots@gmail.com. I don't care about quality. Just. Do. It. The one below is not the same as the last one you heard. It's my wife trying to further prove that women CAN make sound effects just as good as any man.
Just. Don't ask. I'm still messing about trying to figure out how to remove the fold line. I kinda like this one, despite what I see in it.
Seems like it is time again for these reminders:
1) No need to worry about feeling Paint inadequate! If you have seen any of the blots or episodes from the beginning, you know you can't get too much worse than General Failure. Remember, it is not about the art, it's about the interpretation.
2) Not everyone is going to see something everyday. It's not a slight on your brain. If you don't see something, just take some random pills from a random person on a random street and report back here.
3) I realize that some of you are just being cheeky when you ask things like "I see (xyz), am I crazy?" but you should realize that in the scheme of things (and in the real Rorschach Test) just asking that question gives away something about your personality. We may not be doctors, but we are observers. So don't sweat it! If you are responding, it is just assumed that you are a few speakers shy of surround sound, which is a great way to get in to
INTERPRETATIONS FROM
YESTERDAY'S INKBLOT
I can't tell if The Cockshiner is struggling with his honesty, or his sexuality. Like a real man (if you have been to his blog you know that from his voice there is a 90% [you never know!] chance he is a man,) he makes no excuses though:
I don't know about the rest of you, but it's the people watching that turns me on.
I'll just slip mine in here. It's some racists about to get owned by a mutated sea creature:
Hmm...can't see the fishing rod. CLICK TO ENRAGE.
SpringyB, in a trend I've noticed with a few people (nothing bad,) has got video games on the brains. Why did I pluralize that? I don't know. Roll 3d6 against INT for me. These are the hydras from Zelda rising out of the swamp shooting out fireballs.
"...except they have angry eyebrows."
I am kinda speeding along here; like it says in the header, things will slow down to our regular pace after the new year. See you tomorrow. Oh yeah, thanks contributors!
If anyone has any contributions or suggestions or anythings, email them to me at st.inkblots@gmail.com
Yeah, I was kinda going bug-eyed in Photoshop since I have no clue what I am doing in there. I thought I better quit while I was ahead. I did take Dustee's combination suggestion (since she was first and a firm fan of Milli Vanilli) but things got flipped around and I broke the hues and saturations and what-nots.

I added several more people to The Regulars section (Classy, Bouchard, Sucio.) Please keep in mind that it's all for fun, yeah? Let me know if I made some egregious error in doing this.
I know that I missed someone from November, I just can't figure out who. There are some new Regulars too; just trying to stay chronological. Also, I know that I have a lot of text-based regulars, who I appreciate, but if I went and started listing you guys and gals I'd never do any blots. Well, that sounded pretentious.
Sooooo, lets just move on to my first attempt at anything with the draw pad in the
INTERPRETATIONS FROM
YESTERDAY'S BLOTS
It's a wizard Woody Allen snake with glasses summoning some ghosts from his eyebrows.
Hopefully you will cut me some slack as I learn how to draw.
Les is back (two days in a row means you have the crazies) with a nice piece which he calls I'll Stop Drawing Misshapen Skulls When You Do. Oh, I see. I make one little inkblot with decidedly noticeable "eyeballs" and it's my fault you are seeing what you are seeing? Pfft! Someone better check the straps on your jacket.
You should see it with the skin ON!
Now we have NooG, and I am not going to say he wasn't clear-headed, because he said he wasn't yesterday. It's all good for us though! Check out his fancy non-snake, non-monkey, Yeti-like/teletubby creature (his words, not mine!):
Look at all that hair! Click not just to enlarge, but to FEEL it's fur.
Back to carve up the blots is Suciô Sanchez, and his title is as entertaining as his interpretation:
"Two-nicorns"
Nadia is here again (sort of, not on this blog, but through the forums) with his own style dipping in to the...Animal Planet channel? This interpretation brought to you by David Attenborough.
"Two gorillas fight using stems and leaves. The loser falls in a pit of mud and feces. "
Thanks guys! These are impressive. I've been slowly telling my family and IRL friends about this blog, and it is submissions like these that make me feel all tingly when they raise their eyebrows in concern for me.
Hopefully they won't read what any of you crazies post though, that would totally fuck me over. :D
Ok. I think most of the holiday/family/snow shenanigans are over. I doubt things will be FULLY back in to swing until after New Year's (+1 day recovery time.) I still haven't had a chance to take the drawpad out of the box, but I most absolutely will tomorrow. I appreciate your patience.
I've learned that my multiple-color inkblots will work better in one of two ways: Waiting for the first set of colors to dry before applying the second (duh) OR just scan them and shoop them together.
Note: I was not going for any Xmas colors.
Any ideas for combinations out of this batch? I was just going to play mix and match, but if your mind's eye sees a good combo, let me know. The top-left cyan one is pretty bad-ass to me, so I might not mess with it.
Speaking of messed with, it's a good time to look at
USER-SUBMITTED INTERPRETATIONS
FROM VARIOUS OTHER DAYS
I can't seem to find the original blot, but Nadia had done this with it:
Shplork!
He left a YouTube video to explain himself (always a bonus with anyone) which I do not feel like embedding:
It's dude getting his brain sucked out in Starship Troopers.
He also did one from Friday's (which was also Tuesday's.) Yar. Thanks, Nadia. Thadia.
Gol D. Roger
Les (You have TWO blogs? Madman!) took the blot and made it his own with this cornucopia of imagery. (Yes, I was going to say "cornucopia of crazies" but I am trying not to insult people right off the bat with their first submission.)
Scary Jack-In-The-Box? Odd Pringles can? This makes me want to take Grandma's medicines.
If you take a look at Suciô Sanchez's response from this past Friday, you might have noticed he had a second vision on the blot. He had something a tad dirtier (dicks) in mind, which I (for some reason) encouraged. He struck a middle ground with "Two-tankhamun"
If duel Mona Lisa bras does not make you chuckle, you are dead inside.
Sorry for the double emails, lads. Just wanted to make sure you got my thanks.
Oh, while I have removed the Content Warning on this blog, please feel free to respond with your mind unhindered in text or picture form. Feel free to email your interpretations (or anything you wish) to st.inkblots@gmail.com!
On Tuesday I said I was going to put this one back up to have over the holiday weekend. Thanks again to the anonymous fellow who pieced it together.
I'm also hoping to get more transition noises (I already got one, thanks Raph!) so feel free to use whatever means neccesary to get them recorded! Do anything, make any sound. I don't care about the file format or the quality. Anything and everything will be accepted!
I sound like a car salesman. Anyway, send any submissions or emails to st.inkblots@gmail.com. I don't expect a whole lot of activity over the holiday weekend, but it's worth a shot! Before wishing you well for whatever the hell it is you celebrate, I can't forget
OTHER PEOPLE'S INTERPRETATIONS FROM TUESDAY
NooG finally gave in to his artistic side, and on the way he might have inadvertently expressed his arachnophibia. (Note, that is NOT arachnophobia!)
Friendly Neighborhood Shoop Skills
Continuing his line of what I refer to as "Clip Art On Crack" series, Suciô Sanchez broke my brain with this one:
Title: "Beware The Fox-Turtle"
Well, thanks lads! Always interesting, and always a pleasure. I wonder if sending in interpretations and having them posted here makes anyone LESS likely to visit your blog or MORE likely to call the authorities.
Thanks to everyone for your comments, interpretations and praise (I'll take it where I can get it.)
If you are celebrating anything this weekend, I hope it goes well. See you on Monday.
Yeah...uh, this one might be a bit difficult. Click to enlarge it, then take a few steps back. That usually helps.
FROM YESTERDAY
What a strange fellow Suciô Sanchezis. Obviously that is what we are looking for here, and I say that with the utmost appreciation in regards to his recent interpretation:
Title: "She Who Must Be Obeyed"
Alright, keeping things short as we near the holiday weekend. Thanks again to Suciô Sanchez, and if anyone would like to send in their drawings, feel free to do so at st.inkblots@gmail.com.
I know, right? Anon from another forum (again, I frequent a few) took an older blot I put up and did a dip trip, flip fantasia on it. It totally looks 100x more bad-ass now. I am so putting this up again over the Xmas weekend to try and get as many interpretations as possible. If you are up to it, please email them to st.inkblots@gmail.com! Thanks, anonymous!
INTERPRETATIONS FROM YESTERDAY'S BLOT
You might recall (or scroll, it was only yesterday) that I thought it looked like two ducks talking in to walkie-talkies at the bottom left and right of yesterday's blot.
Big props to Suciô Sanchez for his integration of that theme in to the title of his toody-froodian interpretation:
Some of you that follow me know that a good portion of why I do any inkblots at all is because I enjoy making cheap little vids to watch the transition from the inkblot to the interpretation. What I need are sounds for them:
So if you have ANY SORT of microphone or headset, record a noise that sounds like one thing changing to another. I don't care about the quality. I don't care if you use Vocaroo or if your recording sounds like crap.
While I don't like to immediately influence people, I can't help but notice the ducks talking on walkie talkies.
For my birthday my wife got me this:
Edit: Not sure what happened to the image...
Yeah, that's a lot of bottles of ink. I was very excited, but without testing out the viscosity and consistency of the ink on the paper, things turned out rather poorly:
if you can see something on that then more power to you
So, give me some time, maybe I can make a blot or two that stand out from my other ones. I know I can simply change colors after scanning things, but there is a certain satisfaction in making a multi-color blot that looks pretty cool and nothing like that monstrosity up there.
Meanwhile, enjoy these two wicked interpretations from an older blot:
Original Blot
Bearded pirate braves the elements. - Anonymous
The king and queens daughter is able to preform
miracles and see into the future. - Nadia
Don't forget to click on the images to view them in their full glory. If you have any interpretations, please send them to st.inkblots@gmail.com!
CONTENT WARNING: While you aren't going to see any nudity or graphic images of violence, there is certainly vulgarity! Just keep your hand on the volume.
So, now we're back with just "rating" people's interpretations. All the blots were by anonymous volunteers (with the possible exception of 'pp' from /i/,) and several by me (just one in this part) to entertain the judges (OK, OK, "other participants"):
Buxton, who is pretty much co-pilot in all these endeavors, Dalek (or Josh,) a regular whom many of you have probably seen his work, and Bavita, Mrs. "Oh, Someone Is Here, I Gotta Go" from Episode Eight, who actually sticks around for the whole thing, despite NOT EVER SENDING IN HER INTERPRETATION. :)
Anyway, that lot right there are pretty entertaining themselves.
If you are only going to watch one little bit (this vid is a long one) please jump to 7:12 as it contains important lingo relevant to this blog.
FROM TUESDAY
Some people had difficulty with my Photoshop Garbage blot, some didn't. One of our regular's, Mr. Bouchard, was not phased AND he completed a triforce:
Kudos to you, sir! Nothing stops this madman.
FROM THURSDAY
I know, the audio thing was weird. I need to take a picture of the ghost box, because it looks like a rejected prop from Ghostbusters. Anyway, it turns out that while my recording was real, I must of asked Buxton to record herself saying "never leave" just so I could mix it in and play it back for my friend at her house and possibly get her freaked out. (It never happened.)
Then I put it in on the internet to try and fool someone else.
You're responses were/are as interesting as any inkblot, so I appreciate you all taking a break from our norm here.
Really Unablogger? "It's a Goodwill thing" That's what you got from that? :)
REGULARS
There are people that have become regulars, but because I am not quick on the draw, they have not ended up in the Regulars tab yet. I still intend to rectify that.
Your efforts are appreciated and I don't want them to go unnoticed, so continue to bear with me.
OUTSIDE INTERPRETATIONS
Outside of what? I dunno, I am on a few different forums and image boards. This man I only know as the "sad jew" but his affinity to drawing on inkblots makes him a happy camper in my book.
Can you guess what blots from the past he was drawing over?
I believe this is the origin of the "sad jew"
This should be familiar to the regulars!
ANOTHER PANDA? ARE YOU SERIOUS? :)
AND FINALLY
I'll be checking out my favorite blogs over the next 48, but I gotta have an Inkblot Of The Day! Scanner is still crappy (there is a video on this blog somewhere...) so I took a picture of it:
So that's it. I'll be running around on my birthday weekend (BUT WHICH DAY IS IT?) but I will most certainly keep and eye on my email: st.inkblots@gmail.com for any comments or interpretations! Thanks again to all participants, and GO WATCH THE VIDEO.
Ok, I am having scanner problems. And time constraints. But I will be back tomorrow with the first part of Episode 10, various interpretations of different blots from emails (Yes, I got them!) and other sources, and a proper Inkblot Of The Day. Also, please accept this generic statement about me not getting around to my favorite blogs.
Pareidolia can work on multiple senses. In this case I had made a video several months ago after recording some EVP at a friends house. I don't believe in ghosts, and I know my "ghost box" is just picking up random interference, but...
Still, in the video below, I am curious as to what you hear after I ask the "entity" a question. (Jump to 1:01 if you want to skip the back story and go right to the audio.)
So in this instance, it's not what do you see, but what do you hear? (Please note: I am a big fan of the paranormal and the enjoyment I get from reviewing stories/pics/sounds, and I am part of a few paranormal blogs and forums. I'm not shitting on the concept of EVPs or ghosts, just expressing my personal beliefs.)
I was messing around trying to figure out a way to get rid of the fold line in the inkblots. I have no real clue what I am doing in Photoshop and after applying like, 50 filters, I thought "Is anyone even going to see anything in this?"
To Mr.Bouchard and others that down their submissions: NO! Don't worry about art skills. It's about the interpretation. Any draw-over submissions to st.inkblots@gmail.com are welcome!
Here are the interpretations from Friday, in video form:
Dear YouTube, why can't I pick a frame for the preview myself? Why am I confined to your choices? And thanks for taking up to 6 hours for the change. I hate it when the preview ruins the reveal.
Take a good look at the blot before scrolling around. If you are a regular volunteer, there are "before the fold" images below that will sully your imagination, and the LAST thing I want is to use a word like "sully."
I really, REALLY hope that over the weekend I'll get a few submissions from this.
So with that in mind, please very carefully scroll through
USER-SUBMITTED INTERPRETATIONS FROM YESTERDAY'S INKBLOT
Suciô is going full speed ahead. Destination: Unknown.
Sally and her...breastplate?
Mr.Bouchard just might be having some trouble sleeping. I don't know, I'm not a doctor. I am someone that is afraid of deadly fire-casting clown battlemages:
Classy didn't send in an interpretation, but he actually gave up one of his friends to us. AHAHAHA. I'm not sure how to refer to her, or where she is from, but I imagine there are a few people looking for her right now saying, "Escaped? Again?"
I kid, but really, she forgot to send the description until 15 minutes later, so that is what I had to think. :D
It is Krishna talking to a frog on a fountain with clown fish and fireflies flying around him.
There are also naked women guarding the conversation.
EPISODE NINE IS DONE
It just sucks because I botched it all up. Maybe I'll just put it up on the Facebook page.
Hey! I went from 11 likes to 10 likes. Someone un-liked me! How devastating!
ENDLESS INKBLOTAMI
I am a fan of Endless Origami. It's a webcomic with well over 100 entries now, and he still is churning out the funnies. I think my first view of him was here. Shut up, I was confused. But there are quite a few gems such as this one and one of my favorites: this one.
So, to Commanderloochy (not making that up), accept this as fan art, by someone that can't draw:
Stage One: Incorrectly Copy Simple Shapes
Stage Two: Fold. Forget to take picture before adding 'E' and 'O'
Stage Three: Appear as unstable fan to webcomic artist.
Oh, and he's not just a webcomic-person, he's also a volunteer:
Sorry about yesterday. Time keeps on slippin', and I can only see it getting worse with the holiday approaching. For some reason, everything else seems hectic, not just trying to figure out the whole gift/shopping thing.
I am on the verge of completing Ep9 Part2 and Ep10 Part1 simultaneously, so bear with me.
USER SUBMITTED INTERPRETATIONS FROM YESTERDAY'S BLOT
Suciô in for the ride again, some would say quite literally:
"Get Something Powerful Between Your Legs"
Classy indicated yesterday that he saw a bad-ass mofo. I think he captured the moment pretty well. Let's hope they capture him before he eats someone and wears their face:
Bad ass Cloaked guy with cloven\claw hands in the air as a human is sacrificed on an alter in front of serpent idols. Oh, and there's a fire in the background too.
The Cockshiner probably felt compelled to draw a man wearing a backpack giving head to some sort of fire monster after having expressed (and now a matter of public record!) the thought in the first place. It's okay, you got abused by a Fire Priest. We don't judge here. Oh yeah, we do:
In backpack: 50ft of silk rope
A-Veg said he saw a bit where Jesus as a lion. Would it happen to be where that poor unfortunate man's backpack is outlined?
As always, please feel free to send any interpretations or generic emails to st.inkblots@gmail.com!
The Cockshiner has seen some mean streets in the past, but none that compare to the alleyways of his mind. (I imagine they smell like urine.) I'm sure this interpretation says something about you on a personal level, but I'd rather you just stay away from my wallet:
!!!
Switching from noob to regular, Mr. Bouchard (who can email me any interpretations anytime at st.inkblots@gmail.com) sent in his diabolical interpretation:
Wait, what the hell is that in the first place?!
Next up...he did give me a proper abbreviation so I didn't have to type out"Classically Trained Nub", but I felt for his first time around Classy should at least be given that small courtesy even though he didn't bring enough Maskless Predators to share with the rest of the class:
Those are "planet\star\system things in the background."
Nadia, possibly gearing up for the holidays, drew Santa dragging a two-headed reindeer in to the words to bury it. Don't mess with genetics and your dream for the ultimate sleigh-puller, Santa!:
He ain't always jolly.
Suciô Sanchez popped by and used the blot in a new (at least to me) way to make a little something that I found very imaginative that he calls "Rabid Rabbits."
“"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit.
So yeah, that's a pretty cool technique. Thanks to all the new and old submitters, and to anyone that left a text response. I do read them! I feel today's post made me very content.
